A wonderful friend and coworker of mine attends the BAPS Mandir Hindu temple. She frequently tells me how beautiful it is and said I should see it in person. Since I was down in the area, Chris and I went to visit it and see for ourselves. Although I am not a hindu, I can appreciate the absolute beautiful architecture of this place. The outside is pretty with an archway of pillars leading up to the door. Inside the temple are enormous pillars made of white marble carved with unbelieable intricate detail. In the middle is a high dome ceiling with more carvings and light. It's something you can't believe until you have seen it in person. The handiwork and detail in the marble is astounding. You will need to take your shoes off before entering. There is a video explaining the hindu religion in the lobby. If you would like to taste some unique ethnic food, they have a cafe selling fresh Indian food made daily and a room with tables to eat. Tours are available.
