Demolition Derby at Sussex County Fair, Augusta, New Jersey

I can't believe I went to a demolition derby. My husband asked if I wanted to go and I said no but as it turns out, someone gave me a free ticket, so what the heck. Wow, it was a ball. I am so glad I went. The crowd counts down to start of each derby and cheers wildly for their favorite car to remain in the ring as the winner. At the end of each derby, the drivers get out and shake hands. It's all in good fun. This is held at the annual Sussex County Fair which is held the first week of August in at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, New Jersey. Prize winning animals are there to view such as giant bunnies, milking cows, beef cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chicks, ducks and more. The kids will love it. In addition there are other things to do such as horse show, pig races, farmer's market, circus, monster truck rides, carnival rides, food trucks and vendor of all kinds. It was so much fun. I want to go back again. The fee is about $14.00 per person and the demolition derby was an extra $14.00 but trust me, it's well worth it and it's a fun filled day. Much to do.
