Thinking this was a large farm open to the public, Chris and I decided to visit Hidden Pasture Fiber Farm in Branchville. We passed it several times as it was on a road with private homes. We called and sure enough it was down a large tree lined driveway with a private home and alpacas, yaks and horses on the property. Little did I know that you need to call for private tours. Oh well. Michael, the owner was nice enough to let us take pictures with the adorable alpacas. Our kids were so jealous after finding out we were there and said they wanted to visit so we will definitely be back for a private tour. Zak the Tibetan yak was an animal I have never seen before. This enormous, yet gentle creature was happy being fed by his owner. There were about 180 alpacas and you can go camping on the grounds. If interested in camping on the grounds, reservations can be made through Hip camping. Book a private tour to see these beautiful alpacas.
