Historic Blairstown/Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey

Updated: Jul 15, 2019

Take me home, country road....that's what I feel like when I go to Blairstown, it's country!

It's a lovely getaway from Bergen County. Blairstown has an upscale country feel, the long, windy roads through preserved area, waterfalls down hidden country roads where you can find horses, herons and trout jumping upstream. Blairstown was founded by John Blair in 1760 where you can find a park with a footbridge. In addition, there is Paulinskill Valley Trail, which is a flat, easy trail to walk along that is a beautiful walk through the woods. You may come across horses there so watch where you step. There is a very small downtown where Blair Academy is located. The enormous grounds of Blair Academy is worth visiting with historic buildings on the campus, bridge over a waterfall, rolling hills, obelisk and graveyard.
