Lake Wallenpaupack & Hawley, PA

Lake Wallenpaupack is like the Lake George of Pennsylvania but a little less touristy. This lake is the second largest man made lake in Pennsylvania. It is 13 miles long with over 50 miles of shore line. Located in the Pocono area, less than 2 hours from Bergen County, it's a great day trip. The highlight of our visit was the chartered boat ride around the lake. The sunny day and wind made the boat ride adventurous and fun. Before boarding the boat we had a large swirl ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles. This is what a summer day is all about. After the boat ride, we walked for quite awhile along one of the many trails that weaved through a campsite along the lake where we were able to see many things and enjoyed the shade. The Visitors Center has a deck with a lookout over the lake, it was a great place to visit and grab some brochures with things to do in the area. After visiting Lake Wallenpaupack we stopped for wine and coffee in Hawley PA only a few miles away. Hawley is a small quaint town with a few cute places to stop. The Ravyn and the Robyn serves great wine and food so of course, we stopped for a white sangria. Before heading home, we grabbed a coffee and cannoli at the Cocoon Cafe in the Silk Mill in Hawley. Now the day was complete.
