Padre Pio Memorial & Longacres Dairy in Barto, PA

"Pray, Hope and Don't Worry" is the famous quote from Padre Pio, a Franciscan friar and Italian monk. According to historical records, Padre Pio prayed up to 22 hours a day and performed miracles and had many spiritual sons and daughters who he helped along their spiritual journey. Padre Pio said in the morning you should pray to "prepare for your battle" and in the evening pray to "purify your souls". This National Center is a beautiful memorial to him. In line with Catholic tradition, there are statues, benches with flowers, little courtyards, a candle alley and of course a beautiful church where you can pray. A gift shop is on the premises to buy candles, say a devotion and place your candle in the alley. Along with the candles is a notebook where you can write your requests and even pray for others who are suffering. This Memorial is located on acres and acres of beautiful pastoral property in Berks county, Pennsylvania. Conveniently, around the corner from Padre Pio memorial is a homemade dairy selling delicious ice cream. You really need to stop here to make the day complete.
