One of my favorite places this year!! So, so awesome. Located outside of Bloomsburg, not far from Bloomsburg University is a farm with rolling hills and herds of red deer roaming around to enjoy. Red deer, as I learned from our tour, are technically elk and they love to eat oat apple biscuits. The price of the tour ($10) include a dish of biscuits that are for feeding the elk. The tractor drawn wagon tour is about an hour long and is exciting as soon as it begins. The tractor enters the gates where many elk see the wagon and they come galloping toward the tractor. Because they know everyone has food, they stick their noses into the wagon. The guide instructs us to "push" the biscuit into their mouth. They continue to run along the wagon as it moves. Many, many elk surround the wagon as they wait for their food. It's so interactive and fun. We were able to see the females, males and young elk. There is also a little store to buy fresh meat and other things. It was such a memorable day and I want to go back soon!
