Thimble Islands, Connecticut

Located right off I-95 in Connecticut is the exit for the Thimble Islands. As you get off the exit, you can see the archipelago that looks like dots on the Long Island Sound. As you head to the docks, take the Volsunga, a small boat that cruises around the Islands and gives you a history of the islands. Some people own their own island with a house, some are just enormous rocks in the water. Charming visit to a shore town with a different twist.
