Trailside Museum & Zoo, Bear Mountain Park, New York

Located in Tomkins Cove, NY, not far from Bergen County is Bear Mountain. Bear Mountain has trail with various wildlife animals and a small museum. Of course, the highlight of the zoo are the huge bears. They also have fox, otter and eagles along the trail. There is a big lawn for the kids to run around and you can go inside the lodge. Bear Mountain was named after the mountain behind it that looks like a bear laying down. See if you can find it. Here at Bear Mountain, there is an outdoor ice skating rink in the winter. This is located near seven lakes drive so the area is very scenic. Beautiful for a Fall day with all the colors. A great day out.
